Went for Sunday Lunch where the service was terrible and the food was poor. Arrived at 1:30 and ordered straight away after getting drinks. After 30 minutes, we noticed 2 tables leaving due to how long they had been waiting to get food. We persevered, but the food took over an hour to arrive. At no point did the waiting staff come to the table, provide any updates/apologies or ask if we wanted any more drinks. When the food arrived, parts of it were inedible. The beef and the yorkshires were good, but the "roast" potatoes and the stuffing had been deep fried and badly burnt, and the veg was boiled and soggy.

90 minute wait for preordered food. Manager wouldn’t come out of kitchen to speak to us. Sunday lunch was poor for the price

I only had the lunch special for £13. We had a selection of alcoholic and non drinks and the lunch menu was decent. The food took around 40 mins to arrive at our table and it wasnt that busy. But when the food arrived it was all hot feshly made and really delicious. I had the chicken wrap with red slaw and fries and there was veggie betroot burger with smoked cheese and cumberland sausage with gravy. Everything was well presented. Portion size was on the smaller size too. The enviroment was lovely and well decorated. Well worth the wait and i would go back if i was in the area again!

I recently ran a 3 day photography business workshop at The Queens Head in Rothbury for 13 photographers from around the UK. The location was perfect, ample parking for everyone who attended, and we had full use of their small function room for the duration of the workshop. The staff kept us topped up with tea's and coffees throughout the day, and everyone who attended was more than happy with their accommadtion, all commentting on how fantastic the breakfast was. We ate each night from thier extensive menu, the food was delicious, really good portions and huge deserts too. We couldn't have asked for anything more. First class service, great attention to detail and a very warm and friendly welcome each day. Thank you so much to Jordann and her team for helping us run such a successful event. Five stars all round!!

Called into Rothbury today just for a quick bite and saw the Queens Head first so decided to give it a go with my elderly Mum. I was going to give it a one star but the girl who served us was very pleasant and hellful. My Mum had the scampi and I asked for a pensioners portion as my Mum really doesn't eat a lot. The frozen chips looked as dry as cardboard and peas were simply cold. I thought I would give the signature burger a go (The Queens Head Burger) which apparently came with a Soda Bread bun. JEEEEEEEZE it was rock hard and I mean ROCK. Actually it was totally inedible which was more than disappointing as the chicken was as hard as hell too. I asked for the bill and the small scampi was the same price as the larger scampi meal whish is kinda astonishing as was the fact that when I pointed out the bread was inedible and the price of the scampi was incorrect a whole £2 was deducted from the bill. We also heard other guests asking for meals which were not available from the menu which is the same as other reviews so nothing has been learned there. My true and honest opinion is go elsewhere. There's a COOP across the road - sorry but true.
